Reply with quote | #1 | I am planning on building a cradle for my H27. Can anyone give me the rough dimensions of a suitable cradle. Mostly how long, how wide and the positions of the supports. I'm planning on using scaffold poles for the construction. Off course, if anyone has a cradle to sell I'd be very interested bearing in mind I'm in Edinburgh.

Reply with quote | #2 | Can't help you with cradles, whoever I have mine on a trolley made from 7" H section girders with centrally positioned wheels from a fork lift truck and corner wheels from a railway luggage trolley.
The idea is that the trolley pivots on the central wheels the corner wheels raised by a couple of inches. This makes a sturdy highly maneuverable base, that can be lowered down a slip, the boat slid on at high tide and the whole lot winched out and towed into position in our yard. Without the need for hiring a crane. |
