IN A RECENT ATTACK OF NOSTALGIA, I BEGAN WONDERING IF I MIGHT SWAP MY MODERN LOMBARDINI 2 CYLINDER ENGINE ON "IDRIS" BACK TO HER ORIGINAL SABB SINGLE. THIS WOULDN'T BE PURELY FOR THE SAKE OF ORIGINALITY, I ALSO THINK THE ABILITY TO START THE MOTOR BY HAND WOULD BE USEFUL AND THE SLOW REVING SABB MIGHT BE A TAD EASIER TO LISTEN TOO THAN THE FRANTIC ITALIAN RATTLE FOR EXTENDED PERIODS. SOOOO, ANYONE GOT AN OLD SABB SINGLE AND GEARBOX KICKING ABOUT? CONDITION DOESN'T MATTER TOO MUCH AS ENGINEERING IS MY LINE OF WORK.

Hey Davi
Hope all is good with you.

Looks like a very smart engine and well priced.

Hope you save some time in 2019 to come and play with Ernst and me!!!

Hi John, thanks for the offer but it's really the single pot 10hp sabb unit I'd like. It's not urgent at all as I have a working motor in "Idris" anyhow. Just thought I'd see if there are any of these original motors about within reach. The Dutch one looks good, a bit far though. Another possibility would be the Bukh dv10 I suppose....
