Dear all,

Following on from the planting of an idea to have a OYCA rally in Zeeland, may i start by putting forward a proposed date?
I have beginning / mid July in mind?  Bert and Shoestring have indicated that he would be interested  along with Vatuhiva. Ernst has sort of volunteered to be the Zeeland organiser. so for the uk boats how does 20th July sound? that would  give a leap from Ramsgate for the southern UK boats, on or around 17th with a sail up the french, belgique coast to Holland in daylight hours. arriving  to Ernst's opted marina on the 20th. then perhaps allow for a weeks sailing in company, and disperse afterwards.
Thoughts please?

cheers

John

Am still very keen on the idea but can't say for certain if my work will allow. It'll be a decision made at the time for me according to how well things are progressing. Sorry, best I can do, small business, big workload.

Following on from the planting of an idea to have a OYCA rally in Zeeland, I thought I would fling 2 dates to those interested in going Bert, Dave Spelmans and Shoestring have indicated that he would be interested  along with Vatuhiva.

Ernst has volunteered to be the Zeeland organiser.  I wrote earlier this year that 20th July may be a good date, but would like to also throw in an earlier date of 9th July I understand that this may miss the peak season and wondered how others felt with this alternative date.

Ernst has looked at local areas and has suggested Zierikzee as a meet up point in the Netherlands,  and I am sure he would be able to advise on a weeks programme of sailing!

Also as this is our first rally, would anybody object of a non OYCA boat we to come as well? A good friend of mine has a Westerly and would really like to hang off our shirttails!

Ze Plan – to date!  _ I have factored in the plan to kick off from the Uk either via Harwich or a meet up in Ramsgate

JULY 2018 aim to arrive at Ostende  6th or 7th July. Aim to arrive at Marina in Zeeland 9th July for a 1 week rally

Tides; all GMT or CEST( I have chosen neaps to aid the cross tide error for Ramsgate France route, also hopefully choosing neaps would aid comfort &  navigation Westerschelde crossing Belgium to Vlissingen)

Walton on Naze ( sailing direct from Thames Estuary)

5 July HW 03.47 3.7m   LW 09.41 1.1 m

Tides (Ostende CEST)

8July Sun 10:13 PM CEST   4.06 meters  High Tide

9 july  Mon  4:40 AM CEST   1.00 meters  Low Tide

9 July Mon 10:55 AM CEST   4.19 meters  High Tide

9 July  Mon  5:13 PM CEST   1.18 meters  Low Tide

JULY 2018 aim to arrive at Ostende  19th or 20th July. Aim to arrive at Marina in Zeeland 22nd  July for a 1 week rally

Tides; all GMT or CEST( I have chosen neaps to aid the cross tide error for Ramsgate France route)

Walton on Naze ( sailing direct from Thames Estuary)

19 July HW 04.08 4.2 m   LW 09.58 0.9 m

Tides Ostende CEST  For additional predictions see http://tides.mobilegeographics.com/locations/4443.html?y=2018&m=7&d=19
